Abstract

The costumes of Brazilian scenic renovations is a study on the scene costumes used on stage by directors and Brazilian groups from the beginning of the century XX to the decade of 1960. The option for those directors and groups were based on the historical importance that their works had in the renewal of the Brazilian staging. Initially restricted to the Portuguese molds, Brazilian staging opens up to the new influences and those allow that a new path in Brazilian theater is followed. The main objective of the work is, other than rescuing and maintaining alive the roots of the artistic Brazilians costumes, to analyze how the current creative process of clothes is based on - or not, as one might find out - in previous processes, started by researcher-explorers.
