Abstract

We plan to receive Prof. Thippur V. Sreenivas from the Indian Institute of Science as a visiting professor who will advise us on our ongoing research for Research Grant Proc. FAPESP 2012/24789-0 about Analysis of Audio and Speech Signals for Reconstruction and Recognition. The main activities that have been planned include presentations about our ongoing research in analysis and modeling of speech signals, audio coding, speaker identification, spectral models for speech signals and their quantization for speech coding, and separation of speech and music sources, followed by his expert advising and discussion. Besides, two talks are planned which may include the themes above and also localization of sound sources, sparse representations of audio signals, sub-Nyquist sampling of speech, speech and music segmentation, and human-robot communication. These talks will take place in the University of São Paulo (USP) and in the Federal University of the ABC (UFABC) and professors and researchers from UNICAMP and UNESP will also be invited. (AU)
