Abstract
Dr. Robert Schulz has large research experience in topics involving advanced materials associated with energy; which is the main focus of his work since many years ago. Dr. Schulz research involves metastable, amorphous and nanostructured materials in connection with technologies for the development of the use of hydrogen as energy carrier; in addition he is also involved in themes related with electrolysis, fuel cells, etc. In fact, he has an important number of publications and patents related with materials for hydrogen storage and different types of coatings for protection and maintenance of components used in the energy sector. He is Senior Research Scientist of the Canadian company HydroQuebec, one of the most important world companies from the energy sector. The activities during his short visit will benefit directly 03 research projects financed by FAPESP and CNPq in themes associated with the development and properties of metastable, amorphous and nanostructured metallic alloys. In addition, Dr. Schulz Will be also participating as Invited Speaker in the 1º Encontro de Ciência e Engenharia de Materiais: Energia, Sustentabilidade e Inovação (ECEM) which will take place at UFSCar, São Carlos, Brazil, from 27 to 29 Novembre 2013 (http://www.demaex.org.br/ecem/). In this meeting he will present the talk Nanostructured Coatings for Improving Energy Efficiency. (AU)
