Abstract

We want to evaluate if the bacteriophage 933W is able to transduce host cells in vivo. These results could impact on the STEC-HUS comprehension, since local eukaryotic cells transduced with and/or infected by bacteriophage encoding Stx2, could be an alternative source to produce Stx2 and should be helpful to design a new vaccine approach against the bacteriophage implicated in Stx production.
