Abstract

The Visiting Researcher Program of Diabetes Group of Hospital das Clinicas, Faculty of Medicine, USP is intended to promote the exchange of knowledge about diabetes, insulin resistance and carbohydrate metabolism, with graduate students, interns and researchers through meetings and seminars. The visiting researcher are going to participate in meetings to evaluate and provide suggestions regarding the goals and progress of research projects developed by students and researchers, supported by FAPESP, listed below :- Influence of ancestry in susceptibility of type 1 diabetes in a Brazilian population . FAPESP: 2012 / 14212-7, - Soccer for Health: Impact of nutrition and recreational soccer in type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patients. FAPESP: 2012/01400-0, - Effect of Carbohydrate supplementation during intensive training in the expression of immune response genes in elite runners. FAPESP : 2011 / 08030-0,- Treatment with GLP- 1 analogue improves Beta cell function in patients with type 2 diabetes carriers of rs7903146 polymorphism of TCF7L2 gene. FAPESP : 2010/17943-7,- Evaluation of the use of DPP- IV in Cardiovascular Function and Peripheral Neuropathy in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patients. FAPESP: 2009/13904-0. In addition, the visiting researcher participate in other activities listed below: - Seminars for graduate students with discussions of case report and articles, - Lecture for researchers, graduate students and clinical staff of the Endocrinology USP, - Visit to Diabetes Care Center and associated laboratories of Endocrinology of Hospital das Clinicas, FMUSP. The lectures for researchers and students contribute to their qualification, as well as international and multidisciplinary of our post graduation program. (AU)
