Abstract

The Advisory Board of the Instituto de Medicina Tropical de São Paulo (IMT-USP), seeking to improve the quality of the research, has unanimously approved the annual implementation plan for utilization of the institutional infrastructure project, supported by FAPESP, based on a project to transform an underutilized area in the building-II, in a new facility directed at the activities of washing, sterilization and installation of laboratory biosafety level 3 (BSL-3), for the common use of several laboratories that operate in that building of the IMT-USP.The proposal is divided into three parts: 1) execution of an executive project for structuring an area of about 50m2 on the ground floor of the IMT-USP building II, intended for the washing, sterilization and installation activities of a future biosafety level 3 laboratory (BSL-3), 2) the second item includes the acquisition of a professional washer for laboratory glassware and 3) acquisition of an autoclave for sterilizing solutions and specific materials.
