Abstract

In this proposal is intended supply solution to the problems associated to the efficiency of reactions that occurs in direct acohol fuel cells, in particular in the electro-oxidation of ethanol and glycerol. The general aim of this proposal foresees the inedited preparation of nanoparticles for ethanol and glycerol electro-oxidation, specially as multi-metallic nanoparticles, forming surface alloys or core-shell nanostructures for application as electro-catalysts in direct alcohol fuel cells. Additionally, monocrystalline stepped surfaces will be also employed with the intention to design stepped surface catalytic nanoparticles. (AU)
