Proposal regarding the use of part of the FAPESP technical reserve for institutional infrastructure costs for research

This proposal presents the needs and justifications of the University of Sao Paulo at Ribeirao Preto College of Nursing (EERP-USP) to use part of the technical resource fund of projects supported by FAPESP, in the year 2013, totaling [...]. EERP-USP, aiming to strengthen its research structure as to support its researchers, by developing its physical and functional infrastructure, established in 2009 the Center for Research Support - CENAPq. Since then, CENAPq has acted in order to provide technical support to researchers and Research Groups according to the demands and needs identified in the unit. Aiming to develop the Centre, employees from different sectors of EERP-USP were trained by FAPESP regarding research support processes. More recently, EERP-USP prioritized hiring a specialized technical employee, graduate in statistics, to be part of the staff linked to CENAPq, as well as allocating an administrative technical staff already trained by FAPESP. The Centre staff includes also one other technical researcher and faculty with expertise and experience in research. Thus, the demands and needs identified at EERP-USP to use the institutional technical resource fund are articulated in three main areas represented by the projects presented here. The first axis is oriented to activities aimed at supporting researchers, focusing the improvement of faculty and students. The second axis aims to support the organization of work processes in priority areas involving research activities, as well as the improvement of tools to support these activities. The third axis targets the extension of the use of different Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools in education and research at EERP-USP. (AU)
