For each country the sample will be composed by 104 family caregivers of people with chronic diseases, consisting of 52 caregivers in the control group, 52 in the intervention group by phone. The group of intervention by phone will receive 5 sessions of intervention, using phone with a duration of 40 minutes, 1 time per week for 5 weeks. The control group will receive usual care. The intervention sessions integrate activities of the following NIC interventions: Caregiver Support and Improvement of coping. For data processing will be built two databases independently in Epi Info, the dates will be analyzed in sofware Stata version11 and Winstep. A descriptive analysis will be performed o of the baseline characteristics of the groups of intervention and non-intervention. To evaluate the effect of the intervention on average scores final results of the second and third assessment of the intervention groups and the control group, will be calculated the differences coefficient between the control and intervention group and the Cohen's d value. As a measure of impact of intervention will be calculated the number needed to treat (NNT). (AU)
