Influence of insertion in networks in the internationalization process of the food industry: analysis of resources and overcoming external obstacles

Abstract

The Brazilian companies are expanding the global market share. However, they have difficulties, risks and costs of this process, even aiming to growth and improvement in competitive position. An improved stance the company in the market has source in the availability of resources in the company, in the ability to transform these resources into competitive advantage and in the ability to expand or obtain these resources through collaborative relationships. Therefore, the main objective of this research is to evaluate how the inclusion in a network affects the identification, acquisition and availability of resources, and identifying and overcoming obstacles in the external environment, aiming at the internationalization. For such, will be analyzed Brazilian companies internationalized from the São Paulo food sector. The combined use qualitative and quantitative approaches will be used as a research methodology (questionnaires for application in survey method, first, and multiple case studies, below). The population to the requirements necessary to meet the objectives will be defined by crossing between the ratio of export companies the SECEX, with Brazilian Exporters Catalogue of CNI. This project brings as theoretical contributions to knowledge, the relationship between two theoretical approaches, the resource-based view and networks, making possible the development of public and private policies, so that the organizations might minimize the points of greatest bottleneck for internationalization process (AU)
