Abstract

Professor Michael R. Hamblin, PhD, is principal researcher at the Wellman Center for Photomedicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, Associate Professor of Dermatology at Harvard Medical School and a faculty member affiliated with the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology The prof. Michael R. Hamblin runs a lab of about sixteen post-doctoral fellows, guest researchers and graduate students. His research program is supported by the NIH, CDMRP, USAFOSR and CIMIT among other agencies. He has published 246 peer-reviewed articles, over 150 full conference proceedings, several chapters of international books and holds 8 patents. A visit of Pr. Hamblin to a research center as the Universidade Nove de Julho - where the only structured program geared exclusively to graduate biophotonics applied to health sciences - will provide an intensive knowledge exchange.
