Abstract

The purpose of this project is the production of a Portuguese-Spanish pedagogical dictionary for texts production, devised and structured for a specific user profile: the Brazilian adolescent learners of Spanish. The user profile, the dictionary purpose and the contrasted languages are aspects that must frame the structure of a lexicographic work. In order to obtain an effective research development, which will result in the publication of the dictionary, it will be necessary to perform some steps: (i) theoretical and methodological reflections on Bilingual Lexicography; (ii) theoretical and methodological reflections on Pedagogical Lexicography; (iii) theoretical and methodological reflections on Corpus Linguistics; (iv) the design of the macrostructure of the Portuguese-Spanish dictionary, (v) selection of context of use as example to fill in the macrostructure and the description of the word, and (vi) the organization of the dictionary. This project will have the participation of UNESP/Araraquara undergraduate and graduate students as well as professors of the University of Salamanca by the means of an International Cooperation Agreement (UNESP/USAL). The devising of the dictionary of Spanish aimed at specifically to Brazilian learners is justified by the current importance of the Spanish language for international relations, and by the internationalization process which is happening in Brazil as well as in its institutions and in the Brazilian variant of the Portuguese language.
