Abstract

In addition to a diverse portfolio of research, Embrapa Pecuária Sudeste has two thematic Fapesp projects in progress ("2012/23638-8: Bases moleculares da qualidade da carne em bovinos da raça Nelore" e " 2011/51564-0: Estratégias de cruzamento e de manejo para otimizar o desempenho materno e reprodutivo de ovelhas de corte, para a produção de carne e de couro ovinos de qualidade, na região sudeste"). All projects will take advantage of additional infrastructure of research. Therefore, present proposal aims to obtain financial resources of the technical institutional reserve for the acquisition of equipments which will complement infrastructure of laboratories and experimental fields of Embrapa Pecuária Sudeste. Priority is given to equipments shared among several users (multi-use) and with potential impact on as many projects as possible. Embrapa Pecuaria Sudeste is expanding its laboratories complex and modernization is essential to fulfill institutional research goals. Furthermore, maintenance of optimal conditions of research fields is essential to develop research on animal sciences. (AU)
