Abstract

The request for Research Aid, in Visiting Researcher modality, arises from the needs of GEPESP (Study Group on Sports Pedagogy), hosted at the Physical Education School at Campinas State University (FEF-UNICAMP) and registered at CNPq Group Directory, and which has as goal the study of sports phenomena in contemporary days. Sport is understood as one of the most important phenomenon of the beginning of the 21st century; complex, plural, with manifestations in several contexts, and involving different characters, having multiple meanings and purposes. Thus, investigating and producing knowledge capable of expanding possibilities for living with such phenomenon is an emerging demand from contemporary days. Moreover, in Brazil the needs surrounding sportive practices have achieved unimaginable reach due to the three major world sports events that will take place in the same decade: The Soccer World Cup, The Olympic Games and The Paralympic Games. Therefore, the need for expanding the search for different sports venues and contents. Aiming at better understanding and experiencing such phenomenon, GEPESP has focused in the study of the sportive phenomenon, observing it in its different venues, several characters, meanings and purposes, with special attention to organization, systematization, application and assessment of the process of teaching, experiencing, learning and training sports. Therefore, GEPESP has aimed at developing actions that can potentially contribute to the understanding of Sports, comprising studies in different levels of studies (Young Investigators, Master's Degree, Doctorate and Post-Doctoral), involving National and International Institutes. At the moment, through request of financial aid for research, within the modality of Visiting Researcher, we aim to qualify developing studies and prepare Young investigators. In order to attend such goals, during the period in which the Visiting Researcher will be with us, the following activities have been scheduled: a) to process, systematize, and organize data generated by GEPESP projects, directly acting at the validation process of methodological procedures (qualitative and quantitative); b) to train data analysis and discussions regarding the dimension of the sportive phenomenon within social-educational programs; c) to analyze and discuss the results of the study in relation to international literature on the topic, observing its reach within the Public Policy towards Sports and Recreation in Brazil; d) to organize and participate in an academic-scientific event aiming to promote the dialogue about sports in social-educational programs, to gather other researching groups, researchers and students from different institutes, as well as the community in general who are interested in this area; e) and finally, to participate in lecturing activities for the Post Graduation program of the Physical Education School (FEF-UNICAMP), with the Sports Pedagogy Program, besides taking part in co-orientation activities with Master's Degree and Doctoral students. Therefore, we submit this proposal supported by the justification afore mentioned, about the reach of the sportive phenomenon and the restless search for qualifying our studies and preparing our young investigators. Moreover, we understand that the request for 'Financial Research Aid - Visiting Researcher' attends the needs of the ongoing research projects, as well as promotes the possibility of internationalization of the Study Group on Sports Pedagogy.
