Abstract

Dr. Andreas Bueck is a Professor from Process Engineering Institute, from Otto von Guericke Universitat (OvGU), Germany, and will develop a broad visit plan. Initially, the visitor will offer a short course (30h) on Process Modeling and Simulation on Chemical and Food Engineering to the graduate students from Programa de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia e Ciência de Alimentos (PPG-ECA) from IBILCE/UNESP. It is also forecasted a visit to the Centro de Secagem of the Departamento de Engenharia Química of the Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCar), where he will deliver a speech about his group´s research activities. He will participate as an invited member of the thesis defense of Fernanda Perpétua Casciatori, DSc student from PPG-ECA, with whom he previously worked during Ms. Casciatori’s internship at OvGU (FAPESP Proc. N. 2012/13939-0). The student will deliver her presentation and will be questioned by Dr. Bueck in English. Relative to his research activities, Dr. Bueck will give assistance to Érika Rezende Tada (MSc student, PPG-ECA/ IBILCE/ UNESP) on Heat and Mass Transfer Modeling of a Rotating Drum Bioreactor using MatLab. Dr. Bueck will give some guidance to Ms. Fernanda on the models they developed in cooperation while she was in Germany on Solid-State Fermentation Packed-Bed Bioreactors, using two-phase modeling, and will start the implementation of a retroactive automatic control system to this system using MatLab routines. During his stay, Dr. Bueck will discuss with the host research group about new publications and future cooperation projects, such as the PROBRAL/CAPES. (AU)
