Abstract
Searches for physics Beyond the Standard Model are carried out independently at the two general-purpose experiments, ATLAS and CMS, that run at the LHC. Since many of the physics processes studied are common, as well as the "reference models" which serve to guide the search efforts, we propose to establish a common framework for the combination of the results from the two collaborations, in the same way that is done in the very successful search for the Higgs Boson. By combining information from several channels and two independent experiments, we aim to identify decay channels not explored at their full potential, improve the exclusion limits and rule out some theoretical models, but most importantly, try to construct cumulative evidence for deviations above the background that could point to New Physics. The teams at University of Edinburgh (Edinburgh Team) and Univ. Estadual Paulista (SPRACE Team) are particularly well-suited to this task, given their previous experience on searches for Exotic Physics at hadron colliders and the leadership positions of their experimental groups in the ATLAS and CMS collaborations.
