The role of microRNAs in the progression of androgen independent prostate cancer

Abstract

The proposed study is to analyze the expression profile of microRNAs miR-221, miR-222, miR-23b and miR27b in tissue samples from patients with prostate cancer (CaP) hormone-sensitive and hormone-resistant and also assess the roles of microRNAs and their antagomirs in CaP cell lines LNCaP and PC-3 that will suffer or no exposure to the hormone, and to evaluate the role of these microRNAs in an in vivo model of CaP established with these same lines.
