Abstract

The research objective of this proposal is to develop a system that will help in the selection process of companies that are looking for students in the field of biotechnology and bioscience. The system will work in a way to identify the best match from both sides, on one side a company that meets the candidate expectations, and on the other side a professional who is aligned with the business strategy of the organization. This system will be the result of the matching of two computational tools (TalentDev and a recommendation system), which will allow gathering the information needed, and efficiently make the process of recruitment and selection. TalentDev is the software that automates the 360-degree (multiple feedback) assessment process, and also allows working with different methodologies. This software will be used on the evaluation of candidates. On the other hand, the recommendation system will allow doing the match between the student profile (behavioral, attitudinal and technical competencies of candidates) and the cultural and organizational characteristics of the company. This last system will be developed based on the algorithms such as Slope One, kNN, K-means, and Stable Matching Problem (SMC). This research will result in the building of a platform that will be integrated to Biotech-Space, and will help in the process of matching between companies and researchers from the biotechnological and bioscience fields. It is expected a positive impact on recruitment and selection process of students of biotechnology and bioscience by companies. In addition, this will help increase the business of the Biotech-Space, since those candidates will be prepared for jobs, doing activities related to the core business of the company. (AU)
