The territory is one of the fundamental concepts of geographical science in the historical unfolding of its knowledge and, in the current period, is increasingly present in academic papers explaining, in different ways, how to control society appropriates and produces space by means of multidimensional and multi-scale determinants. In this project, we intend to examine, in depth, the characterization that the concept of territory acquired in scientific geography built in Brazil in the period of transition modernity-postmodernity, seeking to exploit it in their nature political, economic, social, cultural and didactic pedagogic and logic of its nuances, the territoriality, de-re-territorializations, territorial identities, socio-territorial movements and development in/of the territory.
