The UPEA (Research Unit for Animal Experimentation) is a building for keeping animals of experimental which was built with FINEP resources (UPEA - FINEP - Cross Action Pro-Infrastructure 2008 of R $ 1,577,949.00) and counterparts of the institution which have already reached R $ 500.000,00.A UPEA was designed as a research hub in animal experiments with ambient divided in contaminated and uncontaminated area. A pattern of national and international reference and structure to maintain the experimental animals in conditions free of pathogens. Creating a research environment and ability to create genetically modified and transgenic strains. In this animal house the headquarters of the lines will be maintained with strict control of animal health and maintenance of genetic characteristics. This makes the UPEA a place of reference and accreditation capacity in the vivarium area leading research in UNESP along the frontier of knowledge. The UPEA serve as rats and mice maintenance of animal facilities and aims to establish ideal criteria for maintenance of experimental animals and is intended for all experimental research activities of researchers from the Faculty of Medicine, Institute of Biotechnology UNESP and researchers in general the Botucatu campus that request them. Therefore, a structure for use by all researchers.In order to achieve all the criteria so that the structure is able to start its activities it is necessary to purchase the equipment specified below:1) Horizontal Sterilizer: designed to meet the most discerning sterilization parameters and standards of manufacture and safety, national and international. Can sterilize and dry materials and different densities, such as fields and surgical clothing, instruments and appliances, packaged or not, glasses, gloves, syringes, rubber, liquid not in airtight jars. Can be used in hospitals, emergency rooms, primary care, clinical laboratories and research laboratories. Use saturated vapor pressure of water in the conditioning phase. (AU)
