Abstract
Olfactory changes are reported very often by women during pregnancy. However, most of the scientific evidence is limited and inconclusive. Objective: To investigate changes through the olfactory score in UPSIT, olfactory threshold test and visual analogue scale (VAS) in women before and during pregnancy, at the 12, 24 and 36 weeks and postpartum. Method: Fifty pregnant women will be studied.It will be included only those who health and who consider their sense of smell normal. They will be tested by the University of Pensilvannia Smell Identification Test, smell threshold test, evaluation of smell by a visual analogue scale (VAS) and also a qualitative questionnaire. The tests will be performed before pregnancy and during the 12, 24 and 36 weeks of gestation and 7 weeks after delivery. (AU)
