Abstract
This visit contributes to an-ongoing research effort in combining the wavelet-based multiresolution regularity detection methodology by the applicant with the generic block-structured mesh adaptation software AMROC (Adaptive Mesh Refinement in Object-orientedC++), developed by the co-application. The overarching, long-term objective is the development of a three-dimensional parallel dynamically adaptive finite volume solver that will permit fast and reliable space weather simulations. During the visit, two-dimensional hydrodynamic and space plasma magnetohydrodynamic models will be used to test the present developments in terms of accuracy and computational efficiency… (AU)
