Abstract

This project aims to analyze the scenario of the new social movements in the face of global concentration reality of the power of capitalism in Latin America. It starts from the principle that contemporary capitalism acts by direct action of capital that deregulates the mode of production and work, increasing social inequalities processes that generate a significant contestatory movement and renovated with bases in other logics which express alternative to this power established. These new social movements are forms of resistance that politicize everyday dimension and point to the formation of a new public sphere that clashes with the official public space. This project will analyze and understand these new settings and, occasionally, their political, social and community organization systems; identify how to build the discourse and practice against hegemonic; analyze its relationship with the territory and cultural identity and political processes resulting from their cultural practices and their communication processes. This project will analyze these experiences movements with this profile in São Paulo (Brazil), Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Bogota (Colômbia) based in the fields of culture and communication, is the aim to highlight elements that can provide insight to one reconceptualization of social movements considering the specificities of Latin America.
