Abstract

INTRODUCTION: Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) in children and adolescents is chronic and causes functional impairment and low quality of life. It persists even after adequate treatment. There are no longitudinal studies following children and adolescents with OCD in Brazil, so a study of this kind is mandatory. OBJECTIVE: to describe symptom evolution of children and adolescents with OCD as primary diagnosis after 3 years and to investigate predictors of OCD symptom evolution. METHODS: Follow-up study of children and adolescents aged 6-17 years-old who took part in a randomized, sequential adaptive clinical trial for OCD treatment. Diagnostic evaluations will be made and socio-demographic questionnaires and service-use questionnaire will be applied. (AU)
