Abstract

The greatest challenge in development of materials for biomedical applications is obtaining of a material with excellent bulk and surface properties. When inserted in the human body such materials must be exhibit a good response and interaction with environment. Studies about surface topography have shown that TiO2 nanotubes could contribute to better cell adhesion In last years, Dr. Hans Grisser’s group have been worked with functionalization techniques. The objective of this partnership is to associate the nanotubes growth technique developed for our group (FAPESP 2010/10174-8; FAPESP 2010/07231-0) with Dr. Hans methodology for drugs incorporation. Thus, Dr. Hans Griesser will help us in the CNPq Project "Incorporação de Medicamentos à Superfície de Ligas de Titânio Após Crescimento de Nanotubos de TiO2 (486352/2013-7)". The objective of this project is the incorporation and release of drugs on titanium surface after nanotubes growth. (AU)
