Agronomic potential of liquid biofertilizers produced from agro-industrial waste

Abstract

The use of organic waste in agriculture is a global trend to produce food. This form of production underscores the absence of industrialized chemicals in the agricultural production system. In addition, it adds value to wastes before undesirable, turning them into inputs. A sustainable practice and cost-effective is the use of biofertilizers. Biofertilizer is the designation given to the liquid effluent obtained in the anaerobic or aerobic fermentation of organic matter and water, the final product contains live or dormant cells of microorganisms. The objective of this study is to test the agronomic potential of biofertilizers associated with conventional management system and a hydroponic cultivation technique, in order to contribute to lower consumption of natural reserves of nutrients, contributing in turn to the maintenance of the organic matter cycle. Biofertilizers are prepared from three organic residues and their mixtures including: cattle manure, orange peel and poultry, which are identified in several steps as the acidity, electrical conductivity, macro and micronutrients, organic matter content, among others, sanitary quality parameters and also by spectroscopy. A completely randomized design will be used with three replications in a factorial design, besides the blanks that will be just the application of water and the other with application of mineral fertilizer (NPK) for future comparisons. Lettuce will be evaluated in pots and hydroponic lettuce, where the bio-fertilizers will be used as nutrient solution. It will be also evaluated the influence of auxin content biofertilizer (3-indole acetic acid IAA) for the development of the studied cultures. (AU)
