Abstract

The institutional information and communications network of the School of Education has been structured in recent years in order to eliminate all the areas where there was some improvisation in their facilities. At this time, there are only two points where it has weaknesses to have been expanded with inappropriate cabling (UTP): the connection of the school with the Academic Center of the Pedagogy Course (CAP), Academic Center of the Integrated Course - Chemistry and Physics (CALI) and the living area (cafeteria, library and photocopy), and the connection of the main rack with the EAD education sector. The proposal is to replace the UTP cabling for other using optical fiber technology. With this initiative, we will settle the same pattern to all connections to the core network; we will improve the connection of EAD sector network, responsible for biggest data traffic on the school; and we will improve the connection of the CAP network, CALI and Living Center. It is worthy mention that this same network is connected to the two antennas of the wireless network that are responsible for the connectivity in the Living Center. (AU)
