International partnership to improve clinical and biomechanical studies related to knee disability

Abstract

The main aim of this research project is to strengthen the collaboration between A/Prof. Pappas and Ferreira from University of Sydney and from UNESP - Presidente Prudente and improve the clinical relevance of Prof. Azevedo's current project funded by FAPESP. A/Prof. Pappas and Ferreira have expertise in the use of novel wearable devices that measure muscle activity and motion in individuals with knee pathology. They have an extensive track record of research in musculoskeletal disease and osteoarthritis. Prof. Azevedo has expertise in experimental biomechanical analysis for individuals with knee disorders such as patellofemoral pain, which include the ongoing project. (AU)
