Abstract

This proposal aims to analyze the efficiency of 60 Brazilian airports during the period 2013-2016. Thus, it is proposed a two-stage model. To evaluate the operational efficiency of airports and productivity changes over time in the first stage, a stochastic frontier model is proposed, obtaing the efficiency scores of individual airports and the benchmark airports. In the second stage, the aim is to identify the critical success factors that affect airports efficiency implementing a hierarchical linear model. The determinants factors of efficiency studied are: operational characteristics of airports, governance structure, service strategies, fleet composition, quality indicators and economic factors. (AU)
