The present invention describes the identification, production and testing of a recombinant ZIKV antigen which allows the development of specific serological tests for those infected with the virus. Unlike tests available on the market, the present antigen detected specifically antibodies produced in ZIKV-infected patients even from people which were infected previously by other flavivirus such DENV, making this antigen suitable for use in endemic regions for DENV and other arboviruses. In addition, this antigen allowed the identification of ZIKV-infected people years after infection, in a simple, fast and inexpensive way. (AU)
