Abstract

The objective in this study is to evaluate and compare: 1- Techniques to rehabilitate a complete edentulous maxilla: All-on-Four (F); and All-on-Six (S); 2- Manufacturing frameworks techniques: A- Casting in Co-Cr; B- CAD-CAM in Zirconia (subtractive technique); and C- CAD-CAM in Ti-cp. (Additive technique); and 3- The effect of: A- application of aesthetic veneering about marginal misfit and distribution of tensions; B- mechanical cycling about marginal misfit and screw loosening torque. Work models will be manufactured from prototyped models (n=30) All-on-Four: 4 implants (F); and All-on-Six: 6 implants (S) and respectively frameworks (casting in Co-Cr, machining in Zirconia and sintering in Ti cp.). Marginal misfit will be measured by single screw test protocol. The screws will be submitted to 10 Ncm torque through a digital torque meter and 10 minutes later initial loosening torque will be evaluated. Tension distribution will be evaluated by extensometry and photoelastic analysis. All frameworks will receive application of veneering material, and then marginal misfit and tension distribution will be evaluated as described before. Frameworks with higher misfit will be submitted to spark erosion process (Ti cp. e Co-Cr). Screws will be retightened and new extensometry and photoelastics analysis will be done. Before and after mechanical cycling (106 mechanical cycles, 2Hz/130N), all specimens will have its marginal misfit levels and loosening torque measured. All data will be submitted to exploratory analysis and appropriated tests will be applied. (AU)
