The commercially pure titanium and its alloys have been widely used for the manufacture of dental and orthopedic implants due to the adequate mechanical strength, corrosion resistance and biocompatibility. However, to improve the treatment with the use of implants, optimizing the osseointegration and reducing the risk of peri-implantite, new alloys, and new surface treatments have been researched. The technique of functionalization of the surface, based on wet processes, will be used to develop surfaces for the base of titanium oxide which satisfy simultaneously the following requirements: to induce and increase the osseocondution, to avoid the microbial colonization, in addition to improving the resistance to corrosion. Thus, the aim of this study is to characterize the surface of the alloys Ti-6Al-4Va and Ti-35Nb-7Zr-Ta anodized with Ca and P or F ions, deposited or not with magnesium and silver. The alloy Ti-6Al-4V will be used as control. The surfaces will be analyzed before and after the surface treatments. For the interpretation of the results, statistical tests will be applied according to the type of distribution and level of significance of 5%. (AU)
