Abstract

The incipient era of big data is centered on the possibility of exploiting hidden relationship from data, generating knowledge, which can benefit the several sectors of society. However, this activity brings high demanding processing and communication requirements. Moreover, the ever-increasing deployment of sensors adds new pattern of generation of data, which needs to be dealt with. To allow the evolution of big data, it is necessary to provide the infrastructure with capacity for such processing by capitalizing on new network, virtualization and cloud computing technologies. However, these technologies need also to evolve to cope with the high demands of big data processing. The aim of this research project is to promote such development to allow the evolution of big data activities. (AU)
