Abstract

The project has the main goal of developing an official service for the production of random numbers. The service is based on the principles of scientific metrology, using the methods of traceability and intercomparison so as to guarantee the quality of the entropy source. In addition, we plan to investigate the scientific aspects associated to the generation of random numbers, including physical events that can be used as entropy source, pseudo-random number generators and protocols based on ``beacons''.
