Abstract

The objective of this research project is to understand how Argentinean and Brazilian public opinion perceive their commercial bilateral relation. In turn, we will analyze if those preferences are stable and coherent, or if they change according to the priming given to the commercial bilateral relation. To do so, we will apply two experimental surveys in representative samples in both countries; each of them composed by 1,200 participants that will respond an online questionnaire. Based on the literature of International Political Economy and trade preferences, we believe that the effect of treatments will change according to socioeconomic characteristics, as well as political preferences of the participants. The proposal presented in this Call FAPESP/ Sprint will allow exchange among researchers from USP and the University Of San Andrés Argentina, analyzing the results of surveys and publishing articles in partnership. Such exchanges will also be important for the development of other joint projects involving graduate students from both countries. (AU)
