Abstract

New business models have emerged in which the dissociation between product and services is no longer relevant, and value offers can explore the product-service continuum, with different concepts of use and ownership of the product, bringing several implications for the theory and for practice. In this context, this study aims to investigate the impact of Product-Service Systems not just on economic dimension but also social and environmental, considering the contingent effect of complexity and industrial sector. A multi-methods methodological approach is adopted with qualitative and quantitative research strategies, involving at different research stages the following methods: systematic literature review, case studies, expert panel, and a survey-based approach with structural equation modeling. The expected results of this research project will bring contributions for theory and for practice. It aims to contribute to the state of the art in PSS by developing and validating a PSS model, exploring the contingent effect of various moderate variables. As implications for practice, it aims to cases with involvement of experts, helping organizations on the transition for this paradigm change. (AU)
