Transformations of geometry knowledge in the elementary scholl of Brazil


The project aims to analyze, in a historical perspective, the constitution and transformations of geometric knowledge in the elementary school of Brazil, in the period between 1890-1960. The research intends to characterize theoretically the geometry to teach and those knowledge for teach geometry from the analysis of the school manuals and pedagogical reviews in the elementar school, of the international discussions that circulate about the pedagogical movements of the period. What specialists support that for this characterization? The project also compares research sources, such as teaching programs, reports, school archives, among comper. The theoretical-methodological tool is based on cultural history, such as Michel De Certeau, Roger Chartier, André Chervel, and insert the studies of the Swiss group coordinated by Rita Hofstetter.
