Translate adapt and apply the ECLiPS questionnaire in children with and without auditory processing

Abstract

Objective: The aim of this project is to translate and adapt the ECLiPS questionnaire (Barry and Moore, 2015) to Brazilian Portuguese and apply it to children with and without auditory processing disturbance, as well as to analyze the cortical maps obtained using CURRY software and compare with the ECLiPS questionnaire and with the evaluation of Auditory Processing. Method: The first stage of the project (translation and adaptation of the questionnaire) will be carried out according to specific criteria and validated in the literature for the translation of questionnaires. The questionnaire will then be applied to the parents or guardians of the children in three groups, namely: (1) children with a typical development; (2) children with APD and (3) children with suspected APD, but with behavioral assessment of normal auditory processing. After the application of the questionnaire the children will be submitted to an auditory processing evaluation, which will consist of the following tests: 1-Compressed Speech Test (TFC); 2- Temporal masking test; 3-Digit Dictatic Test (TDD); 4- GIN test (gaps in noise). Results: The results of the tests will be analyzed and then compared with those obtained in the ECLiPS questionnaire, as well as the cortical maps obtained with the CURRY software. Finally, the data obtained will be tabulated and analyzed statistically.Key words: Auditory Processing Disorder, ECLiPS, Children (AU)
