Abstract

This research aims to discuss an appropriate routine to analyze and identify the information that can support the investment decision in Agricultural Commodities Store (SACA). The precarious situation of distribution logistics of produced commodities in Brasil proved by: bad roadway conditions, insufficient capacity of ports, the lack of railways and hydro ways, show the difficulty to operate a ‘just-in-time’ distribution system of the agricultural commodities (at least in medium and long term). In this way a strategic structure of storage shows itself as one of the solutions to control the commodities flow and keep a regulator and strategic store in the country, foreseeing a sustainable agriculture as well as making possible to practice competitive prices of the commodities in the international market. However, as the SACA demands an expressive amount of investment, is mandatory to support the decision making to invest in SACA, through a strategic planning of the development in the logistic scenario, a financial and economical planning, helping the possible investors to make the decision to invest in SACA (few studies about SACA in this view have been made). The research will content: ‘potential opportunities’ about this investment in the logistic flow context of the agricultural production, ‘funding’ to the development implementation, ‘possible influences’ and ‘expected receipts’ in the SACA exploration, ‘risks’ in the operation, prospects of growing for the agro business sector (that will affect the storage), and others that show themselves relevant for this research.
