Abstract

Considering the field research in Sarajevo with people who worked for the journalists during the Bosnia’s war the fixers, I will analyze the place of these people on the construction of a discourse about the conflict and their own constitution as political actors. Besides, I think the war as a context of discourses and identities elaboration which could be noticed by the analysis of these subjects. The fixers are the translators, the guides that made the work of the journalists possible during the war in a foreign country with a strange language for the great Media Corporations, mainly American and European, which have done the coverage of the conflict and broadcasted it worldwide. So the fixers are good to think the process cited before, and moreover, they are good to think the own anthropological doing. Despite the Social Anthropology have already reflected on field research, and on the place of the anthropologist and his informer in the ethnography, we do not consider yet this intermediary, always present on the field, but not on the ethnographies.
