Abstract

Once swimming promotes beneficial adaptations to the respiratory system and cause alterations in the trunk movement patterns, optimizing the abdominal movement and thus improving the total trunk volumes, this research aim to develop a methodology for three-dimensional kinematics analysis of swimmers trunk partial volumes during swimming to verify possible alterations in this variable. For the adaptation and validation of the three-dimensional kinematics analysis system for the submerge use an experiment will be done, in which the variations of the partial volumes of the thorax and the abdomen in function of the time will be analyzed, that will be compared with the values gotten in the analysis done in the Laboratório de Instrumentação para Biomecânica (LIB). Aiming the adaptation of the representation trunk model composed for 30 markers retro-reflexives used in the analysis in laboratory (LIB) different models of trunk representation for the analysis of partial volumes will be compared during swimming. For the evaluation of the applicability of the proposal methodology for the analysis of the trunk partial volumes during crawl stroke swimming will be done an experiment, in which, beyond the determination of the thoracic and abdominal volumes in function of the time, its accuracy will be analyzed.
