Abstract

The research aims the production and the optical and electro-optical characterization of Er and/or Yb doped SnO2 thin films, deposited through sol-gel process. It will be used the knowledge obtained by the candidate during his Scientific Initiation (FAPESP proc. 03/13364-9). Our laboratories have all the necessary facilities to carry out this project. Investigation on deposition conditions will be done, including pH, concentration and viscosity of colloidal suspension, besides doping concentration. Electrical and optical characteristics of thin films will be evaluated. Measurements to be done include resistivitiy as function of temperature, optical absorption from ultraviolet to near infrared, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and photoluminescence.
