Seedbed preparation is crucial for crop establishment, growth and final, yield. Thus the determination of soil physical quality in this phase is of great importance for the understanding of factors that influence the development of crops. This paper is aimed at identifying differences in soil physical quality of the seedbed under no tillage, determine the effect of subsoiling in the formation of the seedbed, determine the influence of attributes physical soil of seedbed in the emergence of corn and soybeans, and determine the least limiting water range of seedbed for crops corn and soybean under no tillage. The experiment will be conducted at the experimental farm of the Universidade Estadual de Ponta Grossa (UEPG) in an area managed with no tillage for 15 years during two growing seasons: 2009/2010 and 2010/2011. Some are certain physical attributes and least limiting water range (LLWR). Evaluated parameters of emergence of corn and soybean crops. The data will be analyzed by analysis of variance to verify the differences between treatments, and multiple linear regressions. It is results that elucidate the differences in soil physical quality existing between the proposed management and verify the feasibility of practical mechanical subsoiling on area under no tillage of long duration. It is also expected to find the least limiting water range of seedbed that is ideal for emergency and establishment of crops.
