Abstract

This work searchs to interpret the speech of the "elite campeira", auto called "guarapuavana aristocracy", gift in the gossip columns "Rumores Sociais", edited between 1959 and 1964 in the guarapuavano weekly "Folha do Oeste". In this passage we search to understand the ways for which the "aristocracy" searched to legitimize its daily practical action and, as well as conserving its status quo, in opposition to the groups come "of it are", as the lumber, called for the city dwellers as "new richs", for having enriched in the region of Guarapuava with the commerce of the wood, from the decade of 40 of century XX. Under this prism, we look for to identify to the speeches gifts in this gossip column, over all how much to the formularization of representations, identities configurations, standards of behavior and settled social norms, mainly, through strategies of prestige and disqualification, in view of the dialogue of these with other cities.
