Abstract

Soybean seedling phytotoxicity can be caused by seed treatment or even by residues remained from pre harvest desiccation with glyphosate and it can be affected by seed vigor and genotype sensibility. The present research has as objective to evaluate soybean seedling development as affected by pre harvest desiccation, chemical treatment and seed vigor. Different products applied to seeds of the cultivars Embrapa 48, BRS 258 e Conquista are going to be evaluated due to possible phytotoxicity to seedlings. Seeds physiological quality is going to be evaluated before and after seed treatment; preliminary evaluations for cultivar susceptibility to ghyphosate are also going to be carried out in laboratory. For seed production, treatments will consist of the cultivar(s) selected previously, with and without pre harvest desiccation with glyphosate, to obtain different vigor level seeds. Then, seed will be evaluated in laboratory, with and without chemical treatment. After this procedure, soybean seedlings will be evaluated through image analysis. The experimental design is the completely randomized in laboratory and the randomized split plot in field. For preliminary analysis, means will be compared through the Tukey test (pd0.05). Data obtained with seeds after field treatments will be evaluated as a factorial 2 x 6 (with and without desiccation x vigor level). Data will also be compared through the simple linear correlation test.
