Abstract

Passively mode-locked erbium-doped fiber laser operating in the solitonic regime has been investigated intensely. The solitons formation in the fiber laser cavity it is a natural consequence of a mode-locked pulse under an intense pump when the laser cavity operates in anomalous dispersion regime. The solitons formation in the laser cavity limits the formation of optical pulses. Therefore, for a better performance of the laser it is essential to have a clear understanding of the responsible physical mechanisms for these effects. This project presents a proposal to investigates the solitons formation and evolution in the laser cavity through numeric simulation. The simulations will be based on the Ginzburg-Landau equation and developed in MATLAB ambient. The results obtained will be helpull for a better control of the solitons formed in the fiber lasers.
