Abstract

This research is contextualized in speech therapy of children with hearing loss (HL) and founded on works that relate levels of perception and production of speech. Considering that set of interactions between segmental and prosodic elements, and considering the relationship between sound and meaning (Madureira, 2004, Barbosa, 2006), studies have brought such great discussions about the development of language, in relation to auditory dynamic or Articulation Index. Thus, our interest is to investigate the evolution of the parameters that characterize the prosodic elements of speech in hearing-impared children in the process of acquisition of verbal language, to describe the acoustic and perceptual-related hearing, through the investigation of aspects concerning the dynamic voice. Speech samples will be collected from different children with HL, with different ages, attended at the Centro Audição na Criança/Derdic-PUC-SP. These recordings will be adapted to the electroacoustic programming characteristics and sound amplification equipment of Individual (hearing aids) and / or Cochlear Implant (CI) devices. The corpus will be analyzed by the software Praat. The acoustic analysis procedures involve the inspection of traces in the shape of the wave, spectrograms, and extraction of the acoustic measures (F0 and duration), in different contexts of the therapeutic. The auditory-perceptive analysis is done using the roadmap VPAS-PB (Madureira and Camargo, 2008), to correlate the sphere of the design speaks to assumptions about the expressive elements of speech, and also to the speech effects in clinical procedures.
