Abstract

The present work aims to study the discourse functionament about the military coup of 1964 and the development of it's dictatorship in the news and headlines published by the Ultima Hora's newspaper using the theoretical references of the french discourse analysis, specially focused on the studies of Michel Pêcheux. The ways in which ideology interposes the subject, the socio-historical conditions of meaning construction and the discoursive memory are the theoretical backbone of this research has as it's research corpus the news and headlines of the Ultima Hora's digital collection published between 1964 and 1969, available at the São Paulo's Public Archive website.
