This central idea has been the target of interest through a specific case study analyzed around Florianopolis , where a large urban project raised to the level of " sustainable city " has received significant attention in recent years. This and other interventions raise at once two relevant issues to urban studies: one linked the concerns with a sustainable city model , in spite of the environmental, historical , urban and social aspects; the other is the expansion of a fragmented urban pattern whose human sphere of urban life is restricted and submitted by and social segregation pattern and the negation of the city. Thus, the aim of the research will focus on analyzing these kind of sustainable enterprises and its repercussion in cities.
