Abstract

Since the mid-80 to the milk chain in Brazil has been undergoing major changes, increased consumption of dairy products worldwide has forced producers to increase production. Milk production in Brazil is often developed in small farms of familiar and represents an income capable of fixing the producer and his family with dignity on the field, but some obstacles such as fluctuations in the volume of milk produced affect the relationship between small producers and industry. In that context techniques and strategies that help the organization and increase production and profitability of dairy farming are interesting. The "CATI-LEITE," developed by the Coordination of Integral Technical Assistance, linked to the state government of Sao Paulo, has shown satisfactory results to propose low-cost technologies, but they bring significant economic efficiency in milk production in small properties, with an emphasis on forrage production and supplementation with other sources preferably locally available, such as cane sugar. This research project aims to propose, raise and monitor indicators husbandry on farms located in the Regional Agricultural Limeira, assisted by CATI, which follow the principles of Project Full Bucket (CAMARGO, AC et al. 2006). The results may contribute in order to evaluate the zootechnical and socio-economic importance of the "CATI-LEITE."
